If you’re looking for beautiful, affordable home decor in Canada, there’s one Canadian store I think deserves a lot more attention. In fact I might go as far as saying it’s Canada’s Best Home Decor Store!
As someone who spent years organizing homes professionally, I’ve learned that creating a home that looks pulled together isn’t necessarily about buying more things. It’s about choosing the right accessories; pieces that add texture, warmth, height, and function without making your home feel cluttered.
And when I’m shopping for those kinds of pieces, there’s one Canadian store I come back to again and again: Bouclair.

Why I Love This Canadian Home Decor Store
With the closure of stores like The Bay and Zellers, and The Container Store no longer shipping to Canada, finding the right home organization and styling accessories can sometimes be surprisingly difficult.
Of course, we have retailers like Amazon, Walmart, HomeSense and IKEA. But one of the challenges I’ve found when organizing an entire space is finding multiple matching pieces.
That’s where Bouclair really shines.
Because it’s a Canadian-based retailer with locations across the country, it can be a great resource when you need several of the same item. If you’re organizing a pantry, closet, laundry room or living room, being able to order multiples of a basket or storage accessory can make a huge difference.
And the selection goes well beyond organization.
You’ll find baskets, vases, artificial greenery, trays, lighting, bedding, drapery, kitchen accessories and plenty of other pieces that can help you make your home feel more complete.
Here are some of the categories that are worth reviewing.
1. Baskets: My Favourite Home Organization Accessory
If you’ve ever watched me organize a home, you probably know how much I love a good basket.
A basket does more than hide clutter. The right basket can add texture and warmth, and make a shelf look more polished.
And if you’re organizing an entire shelf and need 10 or 12 matching baskets, this is exactly the kind of store I look for.
One of my favourite options at Bouclair is their rectangular water hyacinth baskets. They come in several sizes and were a staple in my professional home organizing business because they’re so versatile.
They can work beautifully in:
- Closets
- Pantries
- Laundry rooms
- Living rooms
- Entryways
- Shelving units
I also love their round water hyacinth baskets. I have these in my own home and use them to store cozy blankets in the living room.
They would also work beautifully for storing bulkier items on the floor of a pantry.
One tip: if you need multiples of a particular basket, order them online rather than simply shopping from the store floor. You’ll have a better chance of finding the quantity you need, and ensuring that it hasn’t been damaged on the store floor.
2. Artificial Greenery to Make Your Home Feel More Inviting
Sometimes a shelf or console just needs a little bit of green.
But real plants aren’t always practical. Maybe your lighting is poor, or perhaps you don’t want to worry about a leaky plant pot damaging your furniture.
That’s where artificial greenery can be useful.
Bouclair has a surprisingly large selection of faux plants and greenery, ranging from simple stems to larger arrangements already planted in decorative ceramic pots.
And while some artificial plants look more convincing than others, there are definitely some good options here.
One of my favourites is the Dark Grey Mixed Greenery in Ceramic Pot. I also loved the generous amount of foliage on their waterfall plant in a ceramic pot.
And if you already have a beautiful vase at home, look for individual stems rather than a complete arrangement. I recently picked up an off-white hydrangea stem to add to a floral arrangement in my entranceway for fall.
A little greenery can go a long way toward making a room feel warmer and more inviting.
3. Vases: An Underrated Decorating Accessory
I think vases are one of the most underrated home decor accessories.
And the great thing about a beautiful vase is that it doesn’t even need flowers in it.
A natural-looking ceramic or clay-style vase can add:
- Height
- Shape
- Texture
- Warmth
- Personality
Try placing one on an entryway console, coffee table, bookshelf or bedroom dresser. Add greenery or dried flowers, or simply leave the vase empty.
One of my favourites at Bouclair is their ceramic table vase, as featured in my video, which I currently have displayed on the console table of my entranceway.
I also found a black medium-sized vase that I kept eyeing up while I was shopping. I was honestly surprised I didn’t buy it, because I think it would work beautifully in so many different areas of my home.
Another favourite was the Mahogany Ceramic Table Vase. The rich brown colour is particularly beautiful and works well with the warm, earthy tones that are popular in home decor right now.
4. Trays: The Secret to Making Everyday Clutter Look Intentional
If there’s one styling trick I wish more people used, it’s the decorative tray.
A tray can be both beautiful and incredibly functional.
Think about all of the little things that naturally accumulate around your home:
Your keys by the door.
The remote controls on the coffee table.
Salt and pepper on the kitchen counter.
Jewellery on your nightstand.
Instead of having these things scattered around, a tray gives them a place to land.
And this is where the idea of corralling comes in.
When you group several small items together on a tray, they immediately look more intentional. Add a vase, a little greenery, a candle or a few stacked books and suddenly you have a styled vignette rather than a collection of random objects.
Bouclair has a lot of trays to choose from, and the best option will depend on your home’s style.
I particularly liked the larger dark wooden tray. A larger tray can be incredibly useful on a coffee table, kitchen island or even in a laundry room when you need to corral several larger items.
I also loved their newer ceramic wavy-edge tray. This one is smaller and would be beautiful on a bathroom counter, nightstand or even on the counter of a walk-in closet to hold the jewellery you’ve taken off at the end of the day.
Don’t Forget the Clearance Section
One of my favourite things to check whenever I shop for home decor is the clearance section.
And Bouclair has one at the back of the store.
You never know what you’re going to find, and clearance can be a great way to pick up a vase, tray, decorative accessory or other piece for less.
If you’re shopping for home decor on a budget, I would definitely make this part of your routine.
5. Kitchen Accessories That Actually Add Style
When I’m styling a kitchen, I don’t want the counters covered with decorative objects.
But I also don’t want everything to look completely bare.
The trick is to start with a clear counter, put away the things you don’t actually use, and then allow a few of your favourite functional pieces to do the decorating.
Think beautiful wooden cutting boards, a cake stand, attractive salt and pepper mills, or a ceramic utensil holder.
Bouclair has some really lovely kitchen accessories, including several new salt and pepper mill options. These are an easy way to add a little elegance to a kitchen without adding unnecessary clutter.
I was also excited to see their ceramic utensil holders. In my years of organizing kitchens, I was often looking for attractive options for clients and found the selection surprisingly disappointing.
These are a welcome addition.
Another favourite was their reeded glass canisters with wood lids. They are relatively small, but I love that they come in two sizes. I think they would look particularly beautiful displayed in a butler’s pantry or on an open kitchen shelf.
And then there’s the reeded glass cake stand. This is one of those pieces that doesn’t have to be tucked away in a cupboard. It would be beautiful displayed on a kitchen counter or shelf, even when you’re not using it.
How to Make Your Home Look More Expensive Without Buying More
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from years of organizing and styling homes is that a beautiful home isn’t necessarily one filled with expensive things.
It’s often about how you choose and group what you already have.
Instead of buying lots of small decorative objects, consider adding a few pieces that bring in different:
Textures — woven baskets, wood, ceramic and glass.
Heights — a tall vase or greenery arrangement can help balance shorter accessories.
Shapes — mix round, rectangular and organic shapes.
Materials — combining wood, ceramic, glass and natural fibres creates visual interest.
Function — whenever possible, choose things that are both useful and beautiful.
And perhaps most importantly, don’t underestimate the power of repetition.
If you’re organizing a long shelf, for example, twelve matching baskets will generally look much more cohesive than twelve completely different containers.

Final Thoughts
You don’t need to completely redecorate your home to make it feel more beautiful.
Sometimes it’s as simple as replacing a mismatched collection of storage containers with a few cohesive baskets, adding a beautiful vase to an empty console, bringing in a little greenery, or putting everyday items onto a tray.
Those small choices can make a home feel more settled, cohesive and polished which is what good home styling is all about.
